Gruesome

Hi everyone.
Yesterday, the teachers brought in some kidneys and hearts. We used our five senses to describe them. Once we had some descriptive words the teachers dissected the organs! The kidneys stunk! Mrs B even cooked some for us to try!
Today we had to write an story or poem on the experience. I chose an acrostic poem. Hope you enjoy it.😋
There are also some photos😁😃

Lamb Kidney Acrostic Poem

Lingering smells find the room.
Aha! My fingers explore the smooth, moist surface.
Marbled meat of brownish colour.
Blood vessels leaking blood.

King of keeping the blood clean.
Important like bees.
Disgustingly different.
Nasty smell running through my nose.
Ears listening to the sizzling pan.
Yuck, no more for me today, thanks!

Taste the rainbow

Kia Ora Everyone!
This Tuesday team Moana did a Skittles experiment. We had to get some fruit Skittles, some warm water and a bowl. This is how we did the experiment. First you need to get out a bowl of warm water then get your Skittles, next you need to put the Skittles in the bowl, put the Skittles in position of what you want your pattern to be in, then you pour in your warm water. Next you just need to watch the colours disappear into the water and make an incredible pattern. We also had to do some descriptive writing. Here are two pictures about what we did for the experiment and my writing.......

Show not tell in our writing

Kia ora.
We are learning how to add description to our writing by including ideas from our senses and creating Show not Tell sentences. We made popcorn in class and got to hear, smell, touch, see and taste it.
