Ski Trip 2016

Kia ora
This is an activity we did when we were learning how to write about how we felt about the ski trip.
Something I think I have done well  is describing my feelings.
Next time I think I could improve on is punctuation as my teacher found a few mistakes in my draft copy.

"Every one over here for the lesson," demanded our ski teacher Makalya. We all walked over and got into one big, long line." Now, everyone put one ski on and then put your other ski on," said Makalya. Now I am going to teach you how to stop on ski so to stop you must put your skis together like a triangle or pizza slice now you can go ski. "Yay!!!" I shouted as I zoomed down the snow covered slopes of Happy Valley. Then, all of a sudden... thud! I had  face- planted into the snow. Snap, went the skis as I removed them from my ski boots, then up I got and walked all the way back up the hill to start again.

After what seemed  like 500 tries I made it  down the whole slope without falling over. Tick tock! Tick tock! Standing in-line waiting for the chair-lift was very boring but after ten minutes I finally got on and up I went towards the top of the slopes. BUT...  Just before I got to the end I was bombarded with snowballs from the children below who were waiting to ambush us as we whizzed overhead.

Finally, I got to the end of the lift and  skied off to the restaurant to get lunch.  All I have to say about skiing is:   " I LOVE IT!!!".

Now I am going to give you some tips on how to ski.
