This is the published version of the recount I wrote in Week 1. I shared it with my friends Kristen and Mia and they helped me edit it.We were a pretty good team.

  Chinese new year
“Yawn!” I woke up from the sound of clanging pots. CRASH BANG! Went the sound of pots and pans. I shivered as I slowly walked down the hallway and into the kitchen. Dad was already up and was busy in the kitchen doing something. Then I remembered  it was Chinese new year! So after my brother woke up. Then our dad gave me and Ronan our red pocket. They were smooth and red. We opened them to see what was in them.”20 dollars!” I shouted. “Thank you” I said as I smiled like a griney gorilla. Mum was up so dad started to cook away ,me and Ronan went to the playroom to make a Chinese dragon. It was dark red with big wings and beady eyes. After that I went to see how the cooking was going. It was going well. There was pork, roast duck, stir fried beef, fish, poached chicken, and squid!  It smelled so nice and looked delicious like chocolate cake.
Knock knock! There was someone at the door, it was nana and grandpa for dinner.  I was as happy as a monkey!
