Hooks

Kia ora everyone,

Last week we have been working on description hooks such as direct speech, rhetorical questions, onomatopoeia and staccato sentences. First we had to chose three pictures then in a group we each wrote a couple of sentences but the first sentence had to start with a hook. The people in my group were Magic, Willow, Mosese and I.

"Wow!!!" We all shouted as the motorbike did a back flip then it did a front flip!
Fire busted out the back of the motorcycle. OMG! They stood up on the motorcycle IN MID AIR!!!
The crowd roared with lion’s expression getting louder and louder. With a bang and a crunch they finished their act.

Too fast. I have lost control! The cars hit with great force shattering all the windows.
My heart felt like it would burst out of my chest, I was so scared.
One car came from one side, another from the other.
It was like an explosion of one thousand sounds.
They hit from all angles like light bouncing off a mirror.

Have you ever had a horse ride? The horses trotted up the hill tilting me side to side.
The wind blew the grass like little waves in the sea on a cool spring day as the mountain stood proudly whispering to the wind.
It was relaxing whenever the horse walked
The forest sang like an angel and made us feel safe.
