The 5 Senses writing.

Kia ora
This is an activity we did when we were learning how to use our 5 senses in our writing. First we had to chose an image and then us at least 3 senses. I used sight, tasted, sound and feel. Something I think I have done well was the taste sense, but next time I think I could improve on sound senses.

The Beach
Palms littered the white sand, like rubbish filled streets. The palms were rough and lumpy, as I leant on them seeking shade. Water lapped against the soft sand, splash, splosh. The air tasted of sea salt mixed with sand. Luscious crystal clear water went as far as the eye could see. Slowly the ocean managed to convince me to take a dip in the clear blue sea. Wind breathed gentle salty mist towards my face and the palms began to sway. My feet began to burn, before I slipped into the cool, refreshing ocean. I accidentally swallowed some salty water, it tasted bitter, but relaxing knowing that it was the perfect spot!

Cross Country

Kia ora

This week we had the cross country. For the cross country we had to run through 6 paddocks and the field. There were about seven schools and 700 students that came and competed. The grass was very muddy and squishy. I raced in the 10 year old boys and came 16th. Before I raced I got very nervous because we had to run two laps.
Here is a photo at start of the 10 year old boy's race.

Science fair

Hi everyone!

This term we have been getting ready for the Science fair!!! We had to get into groups of four and chose an experiment.  My group is Lilly, Amelia, Kate and Me. Our experiment is the static ghost👻. We use a balloon to try to make a tissue ghost rise up towards the balloon.  Before we could try of experiment we had to write our hypothesise. Here is ours.

We predict that, when we rub the balloon on our hair, it will charge up the balloon with static electricity, that will make the ghost dance by hovering the balloon over it slowly and carefully.

Here are some pictures of our poster board.

Come back so to see how it went!
